In his book "Horse Encyclopedia" Alexander Nevzorov gave, probably, the most correct definition of this school: "HAUTE ECOLE - figuratively speaking, defines the highest level of working with a horse. Every epoch had its own standards. In the 17th century it was performance of some very complicated elements on horses, that were in perfect collection.
It was achieved through pain by force, i.e. by using spurs and bridles. In any case it was the height of perfection for that period; no one worked with horses better than the masters of HAUTE ECOLE at that moment.
In the 20th and 21st centuries the height of perfection in working with horses means performance of the same elements, invented in the 17th century, however without any instruments of constraint.
Moreover, teaching of the most difficult elements and gaits must be fulfilled without any abridging of a horse. No bridles, no bits, no halters of any types are allowed to be used in training. Any punishment is strictly forbidden. And in the 21st century HAUTE ECOLE continues to signify the highest level of complexity and mastery". This type of schooling brings out the true spirit of the horse. It also brings about willingness and focus. It is not through the pain of a bit, spur or whip that the horse reacts. You have a horse that listens because of understanding. This interactive relationship is more productive in the work and play you do with the horse. This means no force, pain, aggression, punishment in any form. ------- Ce type d'encadrement permet la vraie nature de votre cheval. Au meme temps, sa volonté. Ce n'est pas a cause de la douleur de le mors, l'eperon, ou cravache que le cheval reagis, mais le cheval vous ecoute parce qu'il comprend. Ce type 'd'ecole' est un interaction avec le cheval avantageux n'importe quoi votre travail.

Above: At the beginning, Pepper would want to participate, but was so unsure, he quickly ended by panicking and bolting away. Gradually, because of free choice, he willingly, consciously, reproduces what was learned at his own pace. Despite the playful mood, he maintains composure, and notice his focus. All of these are constantly improving. Mind, spirit, and body.

This is not an ABC training method. We do not seek dominance nor submission of the horse. There is a lot of other talk about a `partnership` with the horse, but what most people do is give the horse no choice. Most people are very happy with that. It is an illusion of harmony. Ideally, it is best to have the horse at home with you, and not in a box in a typical boarding stable. We help develop the horses` mind and expression. A lot of people cannot handle that. A horse playing like a horse frightens many people. Our approach turns most traditional beliefs and training upside down.

This is not dressage. It is not trick training. It is not Haute Ecole being re-visited. It is not using the horse. Nevzorov Haute Ecole is a true friendship. The exercises are based on the natural moves of the horse. Just like with a human exercise program, stretching and strengthening are done gradually. This is done when a trusting relationship is already formed. Friendship and trust means no force. It is also based on the age and capability of the horse. Basic communication and understanding continue to grow as the exercises become more complex.

Not everyone who learns from us are interested in doing haute-ecole-style moves. But there are still the benefits from a new way of living with the horse. In most cases, we end up with a renewed horse that is alert, vibrant, energetic, willing, expressive, healthy, and ... educated! Only you can discover how far you want to go, and it would not surprise me that you surpass your present expectations ! Such is the beauty of living. Welcome back to the beauty and honesty of horses that once inspired dreams within your heart.
